Important Details of the SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria | Overview

The candidates need to pass all tier examination of SSC CHSL to be appointed for various posts of LDC/JSA, PA/SA, and DEO etc. Appearing for the examination requires to apply for it. And it is necessary to verify if all the necessary Eligibility criteria are fulfilled or not. SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria 2019

Let us start with understanding what is Eligibility Criteria. These are a set of necessary qualification or characteristic that are required for the candidate to appear in the examination. There are several examinations conducted and many candidates want to apply and succeed in the examination.

To maintain a basic level of candidature, the authoritative body decides onto certain qualification that is required to attempt the examination. These qualifications maintain a particular standard of language and knowledge of the examination. Following are the SSC CHSL Eligibility 2019 required to be fulfilled by the candidate to appear in the examination.

Nationality:

The candidate must be an Indian Citizen. But the candidates that belong to certain privilege group can also apply for the examination. The privilege categories are as follows if they are not an Indian Citizen:

1. The candidate can be a subject of Nepal.

2. The candidate can be a subject of Bhutan.

3. A Tibetan refugee who earlier came to India before 1962 with an intention of settling in India permanently can also apply.

4. If a candidate is of Indian Origin and has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India can apply too.

Each candidate is required to submit the original certificate and documents in support of their claim to privilege group.

Educational Qualification:

Each candidate must have passed Inter Examination / 12th Standard examination from a recognized university or Board. The candidate should submit the original certification of education. If a candidate intends to apply for the post of Data Entry Operator, he/she must have cleared the 12th Standard in Science stream with mathematics as one of the main subjects from a recognized Board.

Age Limit

The applicant is required to follow the set criteria for age. SSC CHSL Age limit 2019 states that the candidate must fall in the category of Age between 18 – 27 years. Age relaxation will be provided on the basis of the reserved category they belong to. Each reserved category is some relaxation in the upper age limit as discussed below.

SSC CHSL 2019 Age Limit for General Candidate

Each candidate is required to follow the SSC CHSL Age limit for general Candidate if they do not belong to any privileged group or if they have not claimed and submitted the legal documents in support of the claim. SSC CHSL Age Limit for General candidate is described to be 18-27 years. Various privilege group considered for the SSC CHSL Recruitment are:

SSC CHSL 2019 Age Relaxation

The Age relaxation for various privilege group is as follows:

Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1st January 1980 to 31st December 1989.

5 years above the maximum age limit

Defense Personnel disabled in operation during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof

3 years above the maximum age limit

Retrenched census employees of the office of Registrar General of India (They will be considered only for offices under RGI in their order of merit and subject to availability of vacancies )

3 years plus a length of service rendered by them in connection with census, before retrenchment and weight-age of past service.

The candidates should know that fulfilling the Eligibility criteria is necessary to apply for the examination of SSC CHSL. Staff Selection Commission accepts the applications of only those candidates that fulfill the eligibility criteria. If a candidate fails to fulfill the criteria the applications for such candidates will not be selected.

SSC CHSL Application Form 2019

Staff Selection Commission will announce the application forms for the CHSL examination. The candidates can apply for the examination through applications from 19th January 2019 to 18th February 2019. Fill the application forms only after all the required eligibility criteria is fulfilled.
